Motorcyclist killed in hit-and-run crash close to Highland

A motorcyclist died Monday night, March 19, after a hit-and-run collision on the 210 Freeway near Highland, the California Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist’s name had not been publicly released as of Tuesday afternoon. The man was pronounced dead at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.

The collision happened about 8:30 p.m. The motorcycle rider, on a 2007 Kawasaki ZX600J, was eastbound east of Victoria Avenue in the No. 1 lane when he braked and veered into the No. 2 lane, where he struck the left rear of the other vehicle, the CHP said in a news release.

The motorcycle crashed, and the rider was thrown to the pavement. The other vehicle, of an unknown make and model, continued on, the CHP said.
