four minors stripped, thrashed by farm house owners in Bikaner

JAIPUR: A group of minor boys, who allegedly refused to work on a field, were stripped and paraded naked in village in Bikaner district by the farm owners. Sources said three men asked four boys, aged between 8 and 13 years, to work on their farm on Tuesday. When they refused, the accused thrashed the children and stripped them. They also recorded the assault and circulated the video across social media platforms. Police have detained two of the accused.

On Thursday, after the video went viral, the father of one of the boys filed an FIR against the accused with the Gajner police station. He claimed that he had not filed a complaint immediately, fearing for his son’s safety.

Kolayat circle officer said that those named in the FIR include Ganesh Rajput, Ganpat Meghwal and an unidentified person.

“The accused were booked under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” said Ved Pal , the station house officer of Gajner police station.

Bikaner (Rural) Additional SP said the accused were initially booked for disturbing peace under section 151 of IPC. “We will interrogate them to know exactly what took place on Tuesday,” he said.

Police suspect that the minors were not asked to work on the farm and were instead “punished” for merely venturing into the fields and creating a “ruckus” there.

“The children had entered into the farm and were creating a ruckus. They had been warned against that earlier. In order to teach them a lesson the assailants took law in their hands,” said a senior officer.
