After performing final rites of pop, lady fires path to stay his dream

AHMEDABAD: When the going gets tough, the tough gets going, goes the adage. (15) lived this adage as this class 10 student went to write her English language board exam hours after performing the final rites of her father.
Bhakti is the only child of the Thakkars — a speech and hearing impaired couple Satish and Falguni. On Wednesday evening, Bhakti, a student of in Vasna, was studying for her exams at her house when her diabetic father suffered massive brain stroke.

The family rushed Satish to nearby but he could not be revived. Once his mortal remains were brought back home and consigned to flames by none other than Bhakti herself, she expressed her desire to appear for the exam.

“It was Bhakti‘s father‘s dream to see her get good education and secure a job of a bank manager. Bhakti knew this and did not allow her grief to come in the way of fulfilling her father‘s dream. It was a brave step on her part and can set an example for the society,” said her paternal uncle Ghanshyam Thakkar.
