Hyderabad woman killed in a bus mishap in Iran

HYDERABAD: A girl from in the city died and several others from were injured in a bus mishap in .
The bus was ferrying 52 pilgrims who had gone to Iran. Due to incessant rains, the bus slid on the Qom-Mashhad Highway in Iran. In the mishap, Syeda died on the spot. At least 19 others were critically injured in the accident. All of them were admitted to the Imam Khomeini Hospital in Tehran.

The MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan spoke to the group leader Wajid Ali Moosavi and sought help of the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassy in Tehran to ensure proper medical care and their journey back to India.

Out of the 19 injured, at least five are said to be critical, according to , Hyderabad city general secretary, BJP minorities morcha.

The minister of external affairs said she had got a report from the Indian embassy in Tehran. She tweeted that a bus carrying 20 Indian pilgrims was on its way to Qom while it met with an accident on April 15 night. “Unfortunately, we lost Kulsum Fatima,14, because of head injuries. She responded with the information when Syed Ali Jaffry brought it to her notice. Sushma Swaraj also said another Indian national Mohammad Ali is in the ICU.

“Eighteen Indian nationals were discharged after first aid. Our mission staff is in the hospital to provide any assistance,” she said.

In a video message sent to his family in Hyderabad, a pilgrim who was in the hospital said he was getting good medical care and asked his family not to worry about him.
